SCARVELLI CAFE

143 Whitehorse Rd, Deepdene - ph: (03) 9816 8887

Come visit us at Scarvelli Cafe. Industry Beans is our mentor. We have a solid and qualified team of baristas, providing the best espressos every day (So, why not?)

Who can say no to an invitation like this?

We came to Scarvelli Cafe on a rainy Saturday morning for breakfast with the girls and they absolutely loved it.

Scarvelli Cafe is a small, regular coffee spot for the locals. It's big on the 'paddock to plate' concept and most produce is sourced from the owner's farm on the Bellarine Peninsula.

All their baked goodies are made in house using free range eggs (except the croissants sourced from Noisette) and a lot of the meat comes from the farm as well. Coffee is from award winning roasters Industry Beans.

The muffins look - and taste - amazing. It's hard to find good savoury muffins and their smoked salmon and caper one was just so tasty. Light, not too doughy, with nice big chunks of salmon.

The decor is pretty understated and plays with colourful flowers from their back garden and Bloomsville. Feels a bit like a home away from home where you could sit for hours reading the paper over a nice cup of Industry Beans coffee.

Food was quick to come out and so fresh. I loved the wood fire smoked salmon served with a poached egg, salad of crispy polenta gems, avocado, quinoa and charred corn. The salmon just melted in my mouth and the salad added some good texture to the avocado and egg.

Hubby tried Scarvelli Cafe's variation of the traditional smashed avocado and fetta on toast. This one was served with thick hummus and black sesame dukkah and everything just worked really well together to create a nice, filling meal.

Ham & cheese Noisette croissant requires no explanation. You can't go wrong when you put great ingredients together.

Scarvelli Cafe also has a really cute courtyard that would be great to enjoy on a sunny day. They grown a lot of their leaves and herbs onsite and the girls loved exploring the garden.

Great place to take kids, to come for a quick coffee, or a long brunch. I'll be coming back for some takeaway muffins :)

Take you Carlos at Scarvelli Cafe for the invite and for the lovely take home treats!
