Aloha Sailor is one of Melbourne's newest 'hidden gems', tucked away in the basement of The Noble Experiment on Smith St.
The concept is of a modern Tiki bar - the first one I've ever been to! - serving house aged rum cocktails and a short menu of sharing plates.
Aloha Sailor did a great job in reinventing the tropical bar theme and bringing it to a grungier Melbourne style. It's a pretty roomy venue that I think would be perfect for private functions or to gather with large group of friends.
We got to try a few of their cocktails at their launch party; check it out!
Rum Runner |
Hubby loved the Rum Runner, a combination of banana and raspberry liqueur with passion fruit, pineapple and pomegranate juice. Don't be fooled by it's sweetness, this baby can throw a punch and I don't think I would be able to stand up straight if I tried to go for a second round!
Aye Papi |
Aye Papi was my favourite. Made with pink grapefruit, apple and chamomile soda, this cocktail was totally refreshing and ohhh-so-easy to drink :)
Saiku salmon canapes |
Aloha Sailor is definitely a place to come back to if I' ever out for a big night in town.
Big THANK YOU to Reymond Communications for the invite! Another terrific job organising such a fun event.
