We have been to Friends of Mine a few times, but never got round to bloging about it.
It is packed on weekends like all good cafes in Melbourne, which makes it hard for us to visit with the kids.

Although the space is quite tight, 'kid friendliness' is okay with high chairs for the girls and lots of high fives with the waiters (it's amazing how much our priorities have changed!)
Cappuccino ($3.80) |
Good coffee however is still a high priority for us. Friends of Mine poured me a good cappuccino using Allpress Arabica beans. Hubby wasn't overly impressed with his ristretto being a bit cold by the time it got to him though.
I love that Friends of Mine use a lot of local produce on their menu. The double smoked bacon from free range Echuca pork is fantastic.
Herb and cheesy toast with bacon $12.90) |
Croissants are from Noisette and hubby, as usual, devoured his in a sec.

Friends of mine also have a substantial lunch meal and are licensed to serve alcohol. I actually thought their lunch menu had more interesting options than the breakfast one. Might be worth another visit?
