437-443 Church St, Richmond - ph: (03) 9428 5121

Richmond Oysters is a strange combination of fish shop and restaurant. The business started years ago as a fish and seafood wholesaler and the owners opened a retail / restaurant next door a few years back.

I've always heard good comments to Richmond Oysters' products. They're famous for offering an extensive list of good quality fresh and frozen fish at reasonable prizes.

Reviews about the restaurant vary. I have been there once before with a girlfriend and wasn't too impressed. We ordered tuna, which looked really fresh on display, but was served overcooked.

This time, my husband got takeaway fish'n'chips for us.

He couldn't believe how bad service was. From not weighting the salmon properly

The salmon tasted really fresh and was cooked well.

His battered fish and chips combo was also good (chips a bit to soggy / oily for me).
