It's hard to believe that in all these years that we've been bloggling, this is the first time ever we've reviewed a restaurant outside Melbourne!
Rockpool is an establishment and there is probably not much need to talk about the concept, Neil Perry's food empire, etc etc.
What is worth mentioning about this particular Rockpool restaurant is the formality of the whole dinner affair. You don't just 'rock up' at Rockpool Est for a quick meal. The thing is planned, elaborated and a refreshing format for the more casual diner that seems to have taken over other good eateries around Melbourne - including Crown Casino's Rockpool.
What's even better; it doesn't cost the world. We came to Rockpool Est for lunch and had their Prix Fixe 2 course menu for $49 a head.

The formality didn't make the experience uncomfortable in any way. On the contrary; it felt like that - an experience rather than just yet another meal.

I absolutely loved it and recommend booking ahead for anyone looking for a special weekday meal in Sydney. Go ahead, take the time off, enjoy it, do it! And come back here to tell us all about it :)
