BANK STREET WOOD FIRED PIZZA & GARDEN

5 Bank St, Avenel - ph: (03) 5796 2522

Hubby and I went for a bit of a drive last weekend to catch up with a friend and found this cute little place for dinner on our way back home. Bank Street wood fired pizza & garden is located in a suburb of Seymour, about 1.5hs drive from Melbourne.

The restaurant is tucked away in a dark side street. It just looked so warm and welcoming from outside the night we came in. We were very happy to be seated close to the pizza oven!

We started with the garlic and rosemary focaccia. Really nice dough, the right amount of salt and fragrant from the fresh rosemary picked up from their garden.

We also shared their house made pork, veal and pistachio terrine. Loved it! Very tasty meat with great texture.
Jill's pork & veal terrine served with cornichons, pickled onions and bush chutney ($14)

Of course we couldn't go by without ordering one of their pizzas. We chose Michele's Magic Mushrooms - sautee Avenel mushrooms, porchini, portobello, truffle oil and mozzarela. Again, really nice pizza thin dough pizza. I really liked the local mushroom mix and the aroma of the truffle oil.

We loved our meal, the service, the ambiance... we loved everything about this place. Bank Street wood fired pizza is definitely worth the drive!
