SARDI

111 Church St, Hawthorn - ph: 9818 6140

Loved out brunch at Sardi with bubs and a friend last weekend!

One of the advantages of having little kids is that we can always get a table at trendy cafes.

No, we don't get to jump the queue because of how cute they are (or how in need of a coffee we look). With the little ones we are always up at 7am and out of the door by 8am, even on an Sunday...

We got to Sardi not long past 8am and the place was already almost full. It's a tiny little cafe with one single long row of tables to one side facing the kitchen and coffee station at the other.

They clearly put proper effort into going through every single detail to make the place look and few cosy. I loved that every bottle of tap water was infused with some fruit or herb and every table had a little fresh flower & fruit arrangement in it.

mixed berries, coconut milk, & passionfruit smoothie ($8.50)

The bubs were definitely more interested in trying dad's smoothie than noticing the flowers though. They devoured most of it and I was lucky to get a taste. Really refreshing combination of flavours and I loved the crunchy toasted coconut in it.

Milk & white chocolate brownie

oats, buckinis, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, coconut flakes, hazelnuts & almonds toasted in coconut oil & honey. Served w. coconut yoghurt & rhubarb compote ($9.50)

I also loved the toasted granola with coconut yoghurt and rhubarb, This was a huge serve perfect for sharing with the little ones.

Pea and hamouli fritters w. blistered tomatoes, avocado salsa, & smoked salmon ($16)

My fritters were also nice and the avocado salsa perfectly seasoned with loads olive oil and lemon.

Coffees were also good, service was quick and friendly. Overall very good cafe with an interesting menu and good atmosphere.

Just make sure you get there early to get a table!
