I am proud to say I have finally visited much talked about Chez Dre.
Having heard so many good comments about this place, I couldn't wait to give it a try. Chez Dre is tucked away in a narrow lane in South Melbourne and a very industrial setting.
The exposed brick walls are paired with long communal tables and cute flower arrangements evoking the French provence.
Endless rolls of sweet treats are lined over the counter, making it hard to dismiss them even early in the morning on breakfast time.
Luckily, there is also plenty to choose from in the - most breakfast appropriate - pastry section. It's a decadent French fair; crispy looking croissants, pain au chocolat, escargots, all looks and smells great!
We opt for the almond croissant, which is served warm. It's not too sweet and the almond meal filling is nice and dense, but not heavy. The croisssant itself is still fluffy inside.

I'm also after something substantial to start the day and pick one of their cooked breakfast items.
I choose the omelette of the day with field mushrooms and goats fetta. Very tasty and well cooked eggs.

We off course can't resist trying one of their sweet treats and decide to share the coffe macaron. Perfect!
