MARKOV PL Tasty Spanish

Last night I had a surprisingly good dining experience with my partner.

We were going to catch up with friends for drinks in Carlton and were looking for a restaurant near by to grab a bite to eat before that.

We drove by MARKOV PL, which happened to be on the Entertainment book (25% discount on your total bill) and decided to give it a try.

What an amazing experience it turned out to be!

When you arrive, you have to walk through their bar / pub and go down the stairs to the restaurant. The restaurant itself it not that big, but has a really cosy feel to it.

Service was great from arrival. The waitress told us their were full and we would have to wait at the bar for a few minutes before getting a table. We started with drinks - I had a glass of french bubbles for $9 and my partner choose a red.

For dinner, I had an amazing barley risotto (sounds strange, but the barley actually gave a great new texture to the dish) with green apples, goats curd and asparagus. The dish was very well served and its aroma made my mouth water straight away, even before trying it.

The flavours were well balanced and the dishes were overall presented very well.

For desert, I ordered an extremely decadent honeycomb parfait - creamy, but not heavy, sweet, but not too sweet.

With the entertainment card, two mains + two drinks + one desert to share = $60!

Definitely worth a try!

  1. This is a great post! Would you be interested in seeing your work about local places syndicated on local news blogs? See Carlton for example. Many local bloggers are contributing. There’s no advertising and no exploitation of your content - just a convenient way for local people to read local news. To contribute please add suburb categories, tags or labels to your posts, such as ‘Carlton’, ‘Brunswick’, etc and let me know you’ve done this. RSS feeds for these tags are created and added to the local news sites. You may find that syndication brings more traffic to your blog and more comments from readers!
